Question
Subject: QUESTION ON BASIC OF PARENTING
Hearty Greetings to you
in the Name of the Lord! Trust all is going well with you.
The purpose of this email is that l like to know What does the Lord
expect a parent to be and to do ? this is a basic question the desire for the
answer burns with in my soul can you help me get answers, i
know as parent we are to train our children in god’s way and not our own way.
Again. What does the lord expect a parent to be and to do.
Sincerely yours in Christ, From Miss Vera, Gambia
Answer given:
Thank you for your question.
First and foremost parents are custodian of God’s children. Therefore parents are going to be reporting to God how they raise those kids. Those children are not the property of the parents but are given to them by God to be guardian (custodian) for them.
Psalm 127:3 - “Children are an heritage of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is his reward”.
You can search the bible for every place where it mentions “Fathers”. It addresses fathers (which include mothers also) to show good example and nurture the kids in the fear and admonition of God. (Ephe.6:4)
Prov.22:6 – “Train up a child in the way that he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
You asked “what God expects of the parents”. The parents must be a living example before the children in everything. So if parents are not obedient to God, they are transferring the disobedience to the children also.
When the bible says “Husbands, love your wives”, Ephe5:25, and “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord”, Ephe.5:22: if they are not doing the bible, they are teaching rebellion by their examples. Words you say to the children is not enough, it must be lived before them. We are epistles read of all men, and we are read first and foremost by our children.
Therefore we parents must do our best to live as example of a believer before the children as also we teach and train them by words. We are doing it for the Lord!
God bless you.

Question
MY QUESTION WOULD BE THIS- HOW CAN GOD FORGIVE DIVORCED PEOPLE? THERE ARE SOME CHURCHES THAT THINK DIVORCED PEOPLE CAN NO LONGER SERVE IN THE LORD'S CHURCH, BECAUSE THEY ARE STILL LIVING IN ADULTERY WITH THEIR SECOND WIFE OR HUSBAND. SOME BELIEVE THAT THE ONLY WAY A DIVORCED PERSON COULD REPENT OF THIS SIN, WOULD BE TO DIVORCE THEIR SECOND WIFE OR HUSBAND, AND GO BACK AND MARRY THE FIRST WIFE OR HUSBAND AGAIN. WHAT IF YEARS HAVE GONE BY, AND BOTH THE HUSBAND AND THE WIFE HAVE REMARRIED, AND NOW BOTH OF THE PEOPLE INVOLVED IN THE DIVORCE NOW HAVE CHILDREN THROUGH THEIR FIRST AND SECOND MARRIAGE? AND WHAT IF THE PERSON IN QUESTION HAS BEEN MARRIED AND DIVORCED FIVE TIMES LIKE THE SINNER JESUS WAS CORRECTING IN JOHN 4? IS THIS STARTING TO GET CONFUSING YET? !
IT IS MY HUMBLE PRAYER THAT THE LORD WILL GUIDE AND BLESS YOU AS YOU LOOK INTO PROVIDING ME THE NEEDED ANSWER ON THIS VERY IMPORTANT ISSUE!

Answer given:
Thank you for your question. The common mistake is that people think everyone that goes to church is already a Christian. But “except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God”. (John 3:16)
“If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold all things are become new”. (2Cor 5:17).
When born again, old things are passed away, including old sins. One is a new creature. Such person will willfully sin if he or she willfully go into adultery (divorce/re-marriage), knowing the word of God. (1 Cor.7:10-11;12--15).
(Read Hebrew 10:26-29; 2Pet. 2:20-22). “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God”. (Heb.10:31).
Of course, if they genuinely repent the grace of God is abundant, and let’s leave that judgment to the Lord. (1 John 1:9). There are many offenses that send people to hell, one of which is “unforgiveness” for which believers MUST take heed. (Mark 11:26).

Answer given:
Thank you, Tina, for your question.
The bible admonishes us not to forsake the assembling
of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting one another: and
so much the more, as we see the day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25). So, it is
good to attend a Christian fellowship.
However, to truly be a Christian, You must first be born again (John 3:3); Be
filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts1:8), and Speak with other tongues (Acts2:1-4).
Then you can trust the Holy Ghost to lead you (John 16:13-15),
including guiding you to the right Church that is perfect for you. A Church
with people of likeminded, group of believers that are zealous of good works.
“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it
doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that, when He shall appear,
we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as he is”.
(1 John 3:2).
If you have given your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, and prayed the sinner’s prayer (as we call it) (Rom.10:9-10), believe you are saved; it is admonished that you study the bible daily, especially the new testament, and live by the precepts of the scriptures.
As written above you still need the fellowship of brethren because the bible said, “iron sharpens iron”. (Prov.27:17). We are evangelical, Full-gospel believers, and there are Full-gospel churches in Kampala that you can check them out and fellowship with them. i.e Like-minded. Full-Gospel implies we believe Jesus saves, Jesus heals, Jesus baptizes with the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in Tongues, and Jesus is coming again to take away the believers in the rapture, and we are to live for him who died for us.
Titus 2:11-14 - For the grace of God that
bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that,
denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and
godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that
blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for
us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a
peculiar people, zealous of good works.
God bless you.
